Canadian Firearms Safety Course

  • (Non-Restricted Firearms)

    The Alberta Hunter Education Instructor’s Association offers this course to all people who are interested in the safe, legal ownership of firearms and who wish to obtain a Firearms License. Graduation from this course is a legal prerequisite for getting your Possession and Acquisition License. By participating in this course, you will learn how to: Handle firearms and ammunition safely, Comply with firearms laws, Display non-restricted firearms safely, Use firearms and ammunition safely, Store non-restricted firearms and ammunition safely, Transport non-restricted firearms safely. Participants must have no criminal record and need 80% to pass.

Conservation & Hunter Education

  • This course is a legal requirement for all first time hunters.

    The primary goal of the Hunter Education program is to assist you in understanding the important role of modern regulations, management and conservation. Equally important is the wise and safe use through proper handling of firearms and the respect of others.
