    Resources and support are available. Learners are assessed and matched with a tutor and progress of the pair is reviewed on a regular basis. All tutor training is free but please pre-register.

Learning Styles and Tutoring Reading Skills

  • Learn how reading styles impact learning

    This volunteer training will help you to discover your own style and how you can help someone overcome reading difficulties by tutoring strategies to improve their skills.

ESL - Begin at the Beginning

  • Where to start with students learning English

    This volunteer training course is offered in two separate, identical sessions, Fall or Winter. Please contact LEARN for ESL self-training modules that may be available. All in class training for this module is provided in a single evening.

Writing for a Purpose

  • Part One: helping the adult learner to develop writing skills

    This volunteer training course is offered in the Winter session and is geared to tutoring English learners who wish to put their new language to pen and paper. Please contact LEARN for self-training modules that may be available.
